Foam Rolling Workshop: For Active and Not-So-Active Bodies

SUNDAY NOV 17th, 12:30-2:00pm

Location: Oakville Futsal Club – 1370 Wallace Rd. Unit 5, Oakville ON

Do you have sore muscles, aches or pains, or just feel tight? This is a special class devoted to helping you release tension and breathe some life into tired, overworked muscles and fascia. It’s hands on and you’ll get everything you need to know to successfully roll on a foam roller. A foam roller is one of the most versatile pieces of equipment you can own. They are useful in many ways from self-massage and acupressure to upping the ante in strength and balance moves.

This workshop will focus on using the roller for a near full body self-massage that can improve your mobility, flexibility and help to restore balance to your body. If you don’t have your own foam roller you can purchase a ticket that includes a new foam roller for you to use and take home. See below for the foam roller product details.

  1. Sit for long periods – at a desk, computer, on the couch etc.
  2. Stand for long periods – at work, in the kitchen, etc.
  3. Don’t move too much
  4. Are extremely active or do intense workouts, races or physical contests
  5. Experience tightness, soreness and pain in your back, legs and hips
  6. Experience chronic stress
  7. Don’t stretch that often or maybe you know how to use the roller but you just need to get your butt to a class that’s focused on it
  8. Could use an effective massage most days of the week and don’t have the $$$ to see a massage therapist that often
  9. Really…everyone can potentially benefit from this class!!!

36″ Premium EVA Foam Roller – included in the $60 ticket

Ideal for self-myofascial release and massage therapy, this foam roller is able to give you the full massage routine, just like a massage therapist. The one piece roller is made of high density EVA material with a hexagon textured, non-slip surface. It is constructed with a strong core, hence it will not collapse or distort even after repetitive use.

The method is to use body weight to apply pressure to the desired area while sitting or lying on the foam and rolling your muscles along it. This enables you to perform a self massage, breaking up trigger points and knots relieving muscles that would usually become sore after an intense workout. Not only ideal for self-myofascial release and massage therapy, this foam roller is also perfect for balance & stretching training, yoga, physical therapy, Pilates and other sports training applications.
